Gilded Tree Roots

Whenever you want to stretch your imagination, just take a look at some tree roots! Once the integrity of a tree root appears to be workable, it is thoroughly cleaned. If there is no predetermined title or theme, then the root itself can dictate that. Each root is made to rotate 360 degrees on its base. After making any alterations, it is completely painted with a gilding red base coat.  Working in small areas, a gilding adhesive is applied and allowed to become tacky. Then, using various tools, the thin gilding metal is applied and carefully brushed flat with soft brushes. When completed, various patinas can be created by applying different chemicals. The piece is then finished with a clear sealer. Please contact me if you want more info or photos of your fav.
